Kevin C. Baxter, M.A. ’01, an SOE alumnus and part-time faculty member, was appointed chief innovation officer for the National Catholic Educational Association, effective in July.
In that role, Baxter leads three important initiatives in NCEA's new strategic planning: new programs for leadership formation and succession planning; school governance and funding structures; and innovative programs in pedagogy, curriculum and faith.
Kevin has a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enhance the association’s ability to be more innovative in creating products and resources that can directly and positively impact Catholic school communities.
“The new position of CIO will increase NCEA’s focus on innovative solutions to ongoing challenges and opportunities in Catholic school education, specifically in the areas of leadership formation, governance, financing and innovation,” said NCEA president/CEO Tom Burnford. “Kevin has a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enhance the association’s ability to be more innovative in creating products and resources that can directly and positively impact Catholic school communities.”
Baxter had been senior director and superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles since 2015, and prior to that had served as the archdiocese’s superintendent of elementary schools.
